Poodle Sizes
Poodle sizes are determined by height from the shoulders
not by weight
Toys
Toy Poodles measure a maximum of 10 inches tall at the shoulders or less. They can be as tiny as 5 inches tall and would still be considered a toy.
9-10 inches is preferred for showing
Miniatures
Miniatures are 15 inches or less. Preferably 13-15 inches
any smaller and they start looking like toys.
Standards
Are over 15" tall
and 23" or taller is preferred
but a 28-30 inch standard is getting a bit too much!
I guess it's personal preference.
Technically anything over 15 inches is a standard
There are no teacup or royal categories.
Those are sales gimmick terms.
Poodles are not categorized by weight.
